The Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz hosted the concert called "Aires de la otra Orilla" last Saturday afternoon. This is the seventh event of the IV Classical Concert Cycle Arrecife organized by the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the City Council of Arrecife.

The concert was offered by a string quintet by Laura Espino as first violin, Alejandro Piñeiro as second violin, Ayoze García on viola, Amanda Arteaga on cello and Ivanoff Rodríguez on double bass.

The five professional musicians, who know the genres of the Latin American continent, imbued the most representative melodies of the countries of the American continent with a very careful musical selection. Venezuela was one of them, the quintet chose compositions such as Anauco and Alma Llanera, a song that over the years has become a hymn of a country very linked to the Canary Islands.

Mexico was another of the countries that was also present at the concert, with the popular composition by Rubén Fuentes "La Bikina", a well-known song that has been performed by many singers, including Luis Miguel. Other countries that were also present were Uruguay and Argentina with its most representative genre, El Tango, and for this occasion such famous compositions as "La Cumparsita" written by Gerardo Matos were selected. This tour ended with three compositions by one of the great and most applauded as Piazzolla who gave life on stage to the unforgettable Carlos Gardel, themes such as Marrón y Azul and Por una Cabeza.

The audience rewarded each of the compositions performed by the professionals with resounding applause and very grateful they gave them an encore.

The closing of the IV Arrecife Classical Concert Cycle will take place next Saturday the 27th at 8:30 p.m. on the same stage of the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz with the concert "Something more than Opera".
