Hevia will perform this Friday in Yaiza within the framework of the Seguidilla Festival organized on the occasion of its patron saint festivities. The bagpipes of the young Asturian will sound for the first time in the Canary Islands in a unique setting, near the Timanfaya volcanoes in the same place where the bagpiper Carlos Núñez also played in 2004. The Yaiza City Council hopes that the Plaza de La Alameda will be filled again with this new concert.
Hevia's Celtic rhythms will take a tour of his three albums, 'Tierra de nadie' with which he triumphed and became known thanks to one of his best-known songs 'Bushindre reel'; 'Al otro lado' and 'Étnico ma non troppo' from which he will perform several songs, such as the one that bears the title of his latest work or 'Tirador' which three years ago was the official anthem of the cycling tour of Spain.
The bagpiper will be accompanied by a large group of musicians, including his sister María José Hevia on percussion, with whom he took his first steps in the musical world as a duo of bagpiper and drummer. A concert that will be enjoyed by all those who attend since Celtic rhythms tend to be well accepted among the people of Lanzarote.
In addition to Hevia, the Palmeran group "Taburiente" and the "Parranda Janubio" will also perform in this ninth edition of the Yaiza Seguidilla Festival, which is named "Víctor Fernández Gopar".
