The Yaiza City Council lifted the bathing restriction at Playa Flamingo, in the town of Playa Blanca, on Thursday morning, after receiving the Public Health report with the latest laboratory results on water quality, which determine that the southern coastal area is now suitable for bathing.
Since the contamination was detected due to the presence of residual bacteria in the water, which led to the temporary closure of the beach last Tuesday, the City Council and Public Health have been monitoring the collection of new samples and results, which now allow the beach to be opened. On behalf of the City Council, the Councilor for Beaches, Beatriz Vázquez, appreciates the respect shown for the prohibition and thanks the citizens for their collaboration.
