Emergencies organizes a conference in Lanzarote on the risks of natural disasters

The conference is aimed at security and emergency professionals, as well as anyone interested in learning more about risk management on the island.

The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, in collaboration with the Lanzarote City Council and the Canary Islands Government, is organizing the Natural Disaster Risk Conference on February 11, a key meeting to improve emergency management on the island.

The president of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, highlighted the importance of this conference "for the prevention and response to catastrophes." "It is essential to analyze recent experiences and strengthen coordination between organizations to ensure an effective response in emergency situations," he said. 

The event, which will be held in the Assembly Hall of the Cabildo de Lanzarote from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., will feature the participation of leading specialists in emergencies and civil protection, who will share their experiences in the management of natural disasters and discuss current challenges in the field of security.

The conference will begin with the intervention of the general director of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Figuereo, and with a presentation by José Miguel Basset Blesa, chief inspector of Emergencies of the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Valencia. Subsequently, Néstor Padrón, deputy director of Civil Protection and Emergency Care of the Government of the Canary Islands, will present the role of the Canary Islands device in the management of this emergency, highlighting the lessons learned.

Next, there will be a round table with the participation of those responsible for different emergency entities, including the General Director of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Head of the Lanzarote Fire Station and representatives of emergency bodies from different islands, who will analyze action and coordination strategies in the face of natural disasters.
