The Rancho de Pascua de Teguise enlivened the 11:30 a.m. Eucharist at the Valterra church last Sunday, which was presided over by the parish priest, Nicanor Bermúdez Páez.

The group played the triangles, swords, guitars and tambourines, surprising those present with their traditional and awaited entrance to the church. Once inside, they placed themselves on the left side of the main altar, participating with their ancestral songs during the distribution of communion.

After the celebration of the Eucharist, they made a tour, placing themselves in the central aisle to reach the center of the church, where the parish priest Nicanor Bermúdez was waiting for them with the image of the Child Jesus in his hands. On this occasion they were playing "El Salto", a dance of shepherds with music but without singing that is part of the ceremony of adoration and the Besapié, and that has as a particularity that it does not turn its back on the image of the Child Jesus, being the only one in the Canary Islands that preserves it.

At the end of their performance, the parish priest thanked them for their valuable participation, posing with them to immortalize a historic day lived in the parish Ntra. Sra. del Carmen del Valterra, which the public also endorsed with their applause

The Ranchos de Pascua, Adulto y Chico de Teguise had participated in the celebration of Christmas Eve as tradition dictates in La Villa de Teguise.
