The Association for the Defense of the Psychiatric Patient El Cribo signed an agreement this Wednesday by which it receives just over 32,000 euros from the Papagayo Arena Hotel to launch the gardening and computer workshops. In the first of the cases, it deals with scholarships for students and material, while the computer room will be equipped with eight new computers.
The objective of this agreement is to achieve the labor integration of people with disabilities. At the same time, and in the case of those who attend the computer workshop, they will have the possibility of knowing the wide possibilities offered by new technologies. In this way, about 15 people will participate in the gardening workshop, while about 4 students are expected to participate in the computer workshop, "although they can come two days a week and thus do several shifts," explained the advisor of El Cribo, Jesús Martínez.
The integration of people with mental disabilities is essential for them to achieve a degree of independence. Thus, in the last six years, about 50 associates of El Cribo have accessed the labor market in different areas such as ecological agriculture or the special employment center.
