CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés won the 1st school competition for exhibition design of the Tourist Centers, after the decision this Wednesday on International Museum Day.
The CEO of the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo, traveled on Wednesday morning to the International Museum of Contemporary Art, MIAC- Castillo de San José to participate in the program of events that are being held in the fortress transformed by César Manrique on the occasion of International Museum Day.
Perdomo was responsible for presenting the awards of the 1st edition of the school competition for exhibition design organized by the Entity, in which the project presented by the CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés, from Tías, won. The second place was for the CEIP César Manrique Cabrera, from Tahiche, and the accésits for the CEIP Antonio Zerolo, from Arrecife, and El Quintero, from San Bartolomé.
The CEO of the Tourist Centers congratulated all the participants for the "interest, professionalism and enthusiasm" with which they have taken part in this initiative organized by the Department of Education and Cultural Action (DEAC). "They have set the bar very high for the jury with projects that overflow with creativity, aesthetic criteria and sensitivity. Today they have made it clear to the art professionals of the island that they can sleep soundly because the future is more than guaranteed with you," said Perdomo.
From the Tourist Centers they point out that the winners of the contest received a small-format sculptural piece by the young creator Cintia Machín, in addition to checks to invest in school and artistic material. All participants also obtained exchangeable checks of different value.
International Museum Day continues to be celebrated at the MIAC this Wednesday with an open day. "It is a good opportunity to come and discover the work of contemporary authors such as Antoni Tápies, José Guerrero, Manuel Mompó, Canogar and Gustavo Torner, as well as Canarian artists such as César Manrique, Óscar Domínguez, Manolo Millares and Juan Hildago," says Benjamín Perdomo.
In the afternoon, students from IES Agustín Espinosa and CIFP Zonzamas will take on the role of guides of the MIAC - Castillo de San José explaining some works belonging to the Permanent Collection for all those visitors to the MIAC.
