Bernardo Rodríguez, honorary president of Arenas, Arenas Atlántico and Arenas Internacional Schools, passed away this Saturday. Father of the current owners and promoter of the expansion and modernization of the Schools. The Director of Arenas Internacional School, on behalf of the entire Educational Community of the School, has dedicated a few words

In Memoriam

He was born in difficult years, in a society battered by the effects of an economic crisis that would be global, that of 1929, and he leaves us in the midst of another that is no less tragic.

From that experience in his early years of life, his great interest in learning and being trained to contribute to improving the society he received would be born; but above all, it taught him that honesty, professional integrity and effort in work would be the fundamental values that would accompany him throughout his life.

The greatness of his pedagogical vocation and its implementation as a teacher at the first Arenas School, contributed to the fact that together with his wife, Doña Carmen Ojeda, he was the "alma mater" of important schools in the Canary Islands, among which is ours, the Arenas Internacional School.

Those of us who have known this Center since its birth, know the impulse that Don Bernardo's management meant and his desire to turn it into a leading school in Lanzarote. I suppose that one day we will all know how to value the importance of this fact.

Today we learned that Don Bernardo Rodríguez Alonso has died and I, from these lines, have the honor of expressing my admiration for his entire professional and human career, also expressing our deepest condolences to his family and transmitting to the entire Arenas educational community the example of his entire life as the best stimulus to follow him.

If we do so, we will be paying the best tribute to his memory.

May he rest in peace
