Arrecife Culture will celebrate this March 20 the third session of the children's emotional education project Cuento Contigo. This initiative, which will take place between the 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the afternoon, explores the world of emotions through stories, games and creative activities in a way that facilitates among minors their understanding and expression. On this occasion, rage and anger will be addressed.
Reserved for girls and boys between six and ten years old and with limited places, participation in the activity requires prior registration through the WhatsApp number 634 514 214, with priority given to families registered in Arrecife. It will be taught by Vicky dos Santos and Malena García, from the La Mar de Bien association, and will take place at the Arrecife Municipal Children's Library.
The Culture councilor of the Lanzarotean capital, Abigail González, highlights “the excellent reception” that this proposal is having whose objective is “that girls and boys learn to manage their feelings in a playful and educational way, contributing to their personal and social development, while fostering values such as respect, understanding, and coexistence.”
Until December
Two sessions dedicated to gratitude and empathy already held, ‘Cuento Contigo’ will hold seven more sessions until the end of the year. The emotion to be addressed in April will be frustration, in May curiosity and admiration, and in June trust and hope. These three sessions will also be aimed at children between 6 and 10 years old.
After the summer break, the program will resume in September with a session focused on sadness and calm, followed in October by fear and shame, and in November by boredom and disappointment. These three sessions will be aimed at children between 4 and 5 years old.
The cycle will close in December with a special session on the occasion of Christmas, conceived as a space for encounter and emotional celebration for the participants, and will cover from 4 to 10 years of age.
