As every year, the values education received by the students of Arenas Internacional School and the solidarity of the families, have once again been the protagonists of these endearing dates and not even COVID-19 has been able to cope with the good intentions and the desire to contribute to reducing the needs of our society.
Thus, on December 17 and 18, the collection of food, toys and hygiene and cleaning products for the "Calor y Café" Reception Association, in Lanzarote, took place.
An atypical campaign like the times we have had to live through but which has given excellent results recognized by Sister Ana, from Calor y Café, who has sent us this affectionate thank you: "Thanks to the families who made their children participate in this generous and beneficial act for so many people who at this time lack the most basic products on our Island. And thanks to the Educational Community always so involved in the cause. I wish you all that Christmas brings peace, health and love to our hearts".
This Campaign has been promoted by the students of the 1st year of Baccalaureate of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, who carried out a laborious online work to reach the students of the Center and raise awareness of the situation that is being experienced on the Island of Lanzarote. Many families have been left without work and are going through a difficult economic situation, which has led to a tripling of the number of people who come to the Calor y Café Association.

The response of the students of Arenas Internacional School, together with that of their families, managers and teaching and non-teaching staff of the Center, has been excellent, as can be seen in the photographs of the collection, carried out directly in the two vans that were taken to the association to prevent students from manipulating the products, in accordance with the COVID-19 protocol.
It is hoped that the figures reached last year will have been exceeded: 1000 kilos of food and 500 toys, and above all to have contributed to alleviating the situation experienced by many residents of Lanzarote. Thank you all very much for your collaboration"
