The online and live music festival 'Songs for SARA 2021', which was held on May 15, raised 7,001 euros for the Sara animal shelter in Lanzarote.

Last Saturday, May 22, a prize draw was held on the Rooftop of the Biosfera Shopping Center and a symbolic check for the funds raised was presented to the Sara shelter.

The 'Songs for SARA 2021 festival featured performances by artists residing in Lanzarote, but with international participation, and with diverse languages and musical styles. The contributions were made through a micro-donation service and went directly to the Sara association itself, according to the festival organizers.

Also, a raffle was held with prizes "generously" donated by local businesses for contributors who donated five euros or more.

Following the model of the fundraising carried out in 2020 by the Lanzarote Musicians Unite group for the benefit of Emerlan, Songs For SARA 2021 was an online and live music festival on Facebook and other platforms, which took place on May 15. The event lasted eight hours, starting at noon Lanzarote time, with the performance of three to four artists per hour. The program also included interviews and other information about homeless animals.
