The Lanzarote Association for Assistance in Multiple Sclerosis (ALanEM) has obtained funding at both public and private levels to provide socio-health care services to the inhabitants of the island with multiple sclerosis and other neurological diseases.
According to ALanEM, the Social Welfare Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the General Directorate of Dependency and Disability of the Government of the Canary Islands and the La Caixa Social Work have been the main financing entities, "which have made it possible for the association to continue maintaining the care services in Social Work and Physiotherapy, as well as the creation of a new Psychology service that can be used from January 2019".
The association, which was established in 2015 and currently has 78 members, says it is "very happy with the results obtained." "We will continue working to improve the quality of life of people with multiple sclerosis and other neurological diseases and their families", ALanEM points out.
