A young resident of Lanzarote has become one of the new contestants of Operación Triunfo. Samantha is 25 years old and was born in Beaniarrés (Alicante) but works as a singer in a hotel in Lanzarote and is now part of the OT 2020 Academy.
The young woman suffers from sensorineural hypoacusis, which means she only hears 40%, but this, as she explains in her presentation video, has never prevented her from singing. If I can sing listening to only 40%, anyone can do what they set out to do," she says.
Samantha, who has studied Tourism and has studies in solfeggio and musical language, in addition to currently being in the eighth year of singing and the first year of piano, is part of the musical group 'Cactus', which has recently released an album, as highlighted on the Operación Triunfo website.
In the first gala of Operación Triunfo 2020, which was broadcast on Sunday night, Samantha sang the song 'Que tinguem sort' by Lluís Llac, although her musical references are Christina Aguilera, Michael Jackson and Despistaos.
