The Local Police of Yaiza arrested Federico C.M., 37 years old, native of Huelva and resident on the Island, last Saturday, May 31, as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery inside a tourist complex in Playa Blanca. After the robbery was reported, the municipal agents went to the tourist complex and noticed the presence of a suspicious individual who "ran in all directions to try to escape", the City Council reports in a press release.

"After a chase that required the help of more units, he was reduced and arrested. During the arrest, the alleged perpetrator of the events offered great resistance, even injuring an agent in the hand," the statement specifies, where it is indicated that "it is also the case that this person performs security guard duties, although, at that time, he was not on duty."

The objects stolen from one of the rooms of the complex were fully recovered and the detainee was brought to justice.

Vandalism at the Playa Blanca school

In addition, the Local Police of Yaiza reports the opening of a file to a group of minors, aged between 9 and 14 years old, after having carried out several acts of vandalism in the Playa Blanca school.

Last weekend, agents of the Local Police of Yaiza went to the Playa Blanca school after receiving a call from a citizen alerting about the presence of a group of people inside. "The agents observed the presence of this group of minors drinking cans of soda, presumably stolen from the center. When questioned about them, the boys replied that 'some older people had forced them to go to the school to bring them'."

According to the press release, one of the minors accompanied the agents inside the school. There, they realized that the kitchen window was broken, the refrigerator destroyed and a fire extinguisher empty after spilling its contents through the corridors of the Center. In addition, the agents discovered that the perpetrators had damaged the photocopier, emptied a medicine cabinet and caused significant damage to the offices and classrooms of the center.

After taking statements from the minors, and pending the complaint that the director of the educational center may file, the agents informed them that, if required, they must go to the Office of the Local Police of Playa Blanca to provide a new statement regarding these events.
