A boat intercepted near Lanzarote

Maritime Rescue has rescued this Monday a boat with a total of 56 people, including 38 men, 12 women and 6 minors, of sub-Saharan origin. The boat was intercepted at about 06.28 hours, when a merchant ship located it and CECOES was notified.

A rescue that has been carried out in international waters, 12.2 miles from Teguise. The sailors have been transferred at 7.15 am to Puerto Naos in Arrecife. They are in apparent good health, confirms CECOES. Therefore, no transfers to health centers have been made, it reports.

In addition, the merchant ship 'Dominica' also participated in the rescue.
