The increase in positive coronavirus cases in Lanzarote, reaching 118 active cases this Friday, is beginning to be noticed in the healthcare pressure at the Molina Orosa Hospital. So much so, that a 59-year-old man has been admitted to the ICU, after being on the Covid ward.

The Intensive Care Unit had been empty after the death this Wednesday of a 56-year-old man who was admitted.

In addition, the Lanzarote Health Area has confirmed that there are already 11 people admitted to the plant enabled for people with the virus, three of them foreigners, and with ages between 40 and 80 years, although most are between 50 and 60 years. In addition, they point out that many of them have previous pathologies or are immunocompromised people.

It should be remembered that this coming Monday Lanzarote and La Graciosa rise to alert level 2 for coronavirus, "due to a sharp worsening of the epidemiological situation".
