A group of six sperm whales appeared this Wednesday playing and swimming off the coast of Lanzarote. In the images recorded by a reader, you can see how these mammals come to the surface to breathe.
The males can reach 18 meters in length and weigh 48 tons, and it is also one of the 28 species of cetaceans that inhabit the Canary Islands.
They are animals that can swim at very low depths and feed on squid, large fish, rays, octopuses and sharks. Due to their size, an adult animal needs approximately one ton of food per day.
