The 93 Field Artillery Regiment will move to the islands of La Gomera and El Hierro and, finally, personnel from the XVI Sappers Battalion will carry out their tasks on the island of La Palma.

Within the activities planned during the deployment, on the island of Fuerteventura the personnel of RI 9 has planned the holding of an informative talk at the IES Jandía which will take place next day 5. Likewise, on day 11 a static exhibition of material will take place at the IES Corralejo.

For its part of the RI 49, it will move to the San Agustín educational center on the 6th where it will give informative talks about the work of the Canarias Tactical Group.

These tasks aim to reinforce surveillance, exert a deterrent effect, and guarantee the security of land spaces under national sovereignty on the islands.

These activities are integrated into the set of Permanent Operations, one of the main contributions of the Armed Forces (FAS) to National Security in peacetime. These missions underscore the FAS's commitment to the integral defense of the territory and its capacity to anticipate any eventuality that could compromise stability.

The deployment not only allows for effective surveillance of the environment, but also facilitates greater knowledge of the terrain and the social reality of the island. Furthermore, it fosters the integration of military personnel into the local community and consolidates the presence of the Armed Forces in the territory.

Lieutenant General Julio Salom Herrera, head of the Army's Canary Islands Command, also serves as Commander of the Land Operational Command (CMOT).

This position carries the responsibility of planning presence and surveillance operations not only in the Canary Islands, but also in Ceuta, Melilla and the Balearic Islands, and of maintaining constant coordination with the competent civil and military authorities.
