The Teguise City Council has requested this Tuesday to declare a situation of "water emergency" in La Graciosa. The mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, has addressed the Lanzarote Water Consortium to transfer the emergency situation of the eighth island.

Betancort alludes to the "multiple complaints" of the residents of La Graciosa due to the "repeated" cuts suffered by the water supply on the island. In addition, he foresees that the situation will "worsen" with the planned arrivals for Holy Week, with 100% occupancy on the island.

The mayor of Teguise and candidate for the Cabildo for Coalición Canaria insists that once the water emergency is declared, "the necessary works" could be carried out to solve "once and for all" the inconveniences derived from this situation.
