The seminar 'The European Union in Lanzarote: challenges and opportunities' arrives in Lanzarote on Wednesday, December 27th. Playa Honda will host the event that will take place at the Playa Honda Civic Center, at 6:00 p.m., where they will talk about the European Union, its challenges and opportunities.

The activity will be inaugurated by the former Deputy Minister of Education, Universities and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, María Dolores Rodríguez González, and moderated by the Jurist and member of the International Delegation of Equipo Europa, Diego R. Ruiz Barrios.

The following will participate in the round table:

  • The Director of the Area of Private International Law of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Lucas Andrés Pérez Martín, with the presentation 'The Canary Islands and European citizenship: perspective from an Outermost Region'
  • The student of the 'Erasmus Mundus Master in Transnational Migrations', Samuel Núñez González, with the presentation 'Erasmus mundus and other opportunities for young people'
  • The former MEP trainee of the 'European Parliament', Carmen Celaya Martín, with the presentation 'Have you ever considered working in the European Union?'
  • The MEP of the PSOE and President of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament, Juan Fernando López Aguilar, with the presentation 'The European elections of 2024: present and future of the European Union'.

“The closing of the event will be in charge of Julia Fernández Arribas, co-founder of Equipo Europa and current Blue Book intern in the office of the Director General of the Legal Service of the European Commission, Daniel Calleja (in online format), and the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez Martín”.
