The meteorological advance of the State Meteorological Agency reveals that Lanzarote recorded in June the third highest temperature in the Archipelago. Last June 28 at the César Manrique Airport, the island reached 37.1 degrees.

In total, Aemet has five stations distributed around the island. Among them, the one in Yaiza, located in Playa Blanca six meters above sea level, recorded a total of 27 tropical nights. This figure was only surpassed by other regions such as Puerto Rico (Mogán), Agaete, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Pájara. In addition, the Airport reached 24 tropical nights.

Tropical nights are understood as those where the minimum temperature does not drop below 20 degrees. In the case of the Tinajo station, there were four tropical nights from June 25 to 28, two in Haría and Las Vegas de Tías from June 27 to 28.

In this case, the high number of tropical nights in Yaiza and César Manrique Airport was more "influenced by minimum temperatures that remained, in a generalized way, at relatively high values, than by maximum temperatures that were too high", highlights Aemet.

Regarding temperatures, the province of Las Palmas suffered the second warmest month of June since 1961 due to its average temperature that was around 22.7 degrees, being anomalously hot.

At the same time, according to the provincial maximum temperature, an average of 26.6 degrees was reached, 1.9 warmer than normal and also being the second warmest since there is data. As for the minimum, the average did not fall below 18.9 degrees in the eastern islands and was 1.4 warmer than normal.
