The SeBE restaurant in Costa Teguise was awarded this Monday with a Repsol sun, a recognition granted by the Repsol Guide for the gastronomic offer of the establishments. It is their "famous" rice dishes for which they have won the recognition for offering a unique experience.

The restaurant is a small place in the coastal municipality of Lanzarote, which is owned by executive chef Santi Benéitez and his mestre Begoña Ratón.

Rice dishes: their specialty

Chef Santi Benéitez and mestre Begoña Ratón arrived in Lanzarote exchanging the fields of Castilla for the volcanoes. They have achieved their own distinction and identification for their rice, a food accompanied with octopus, fiesta meat or prawns and scarlet shrimp from La Santa, using some of the typical products of the island. They also point out their winery with many local references, as well as the local ingredients.

The common thread of 'SeBE' is to follow the designs of the omnipresent César Manrique, with a collected restaurant framed in white.

According to the Repsol Guide, the couple's love for the island is also evident in other traditional ingredients they use. Mojos, stocks, picadas, wines and, of course, with the resource of local fish such as bocinegro and sama, whose careful staging combines succulence and showiness.
