A pygmy sperm whale has appeared dead this Friday on the coast of La Graciosa, between the towns of Pedro Barba and Caleta del Sebo, as published by Fernández Antonio, a user of the social network X.
It can be observed that the animal has wounds along its body and, according to the protocol for strandings in the waters of the Canary Islands, the removal of this mammal from the coast will proceed and a necropsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
This cetacean species is protected and is very common in the waters of the islands. As for its length, the largest individuals do not reach 4 meters in length.
