National Police agents have arrested a 26-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman at the Lanzarote airport, both of Albanian nationality, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of document forgery. They tried to take a flight to Dublin identifying themselves with Greek passports, one false and the other stolen.

The events unfolded when the staff of an airline operating a flight to Dublin at the Lanzarote airport notified police officers, as a couple had identified themselves with Greek nationality documents with signs of being false.

The agents were able to verify that the Greek passports exhibited by them, one was false and the other was reported as stolen in the police databases, so they were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime of document forgery.

Among their belongings, two Albanian nationality passports were found, which finally revealed the real identity of the arrested.
