The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Tías has arrested the men F.L.L., 27 years old, and J.M.A., 20 years old, from Ourense and A Coruña, accused of a crime of damages worth more than 6,000 euros.

The events, according to a statement from the armed institute, originated in the early hours of Thursday of last week, in the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen, when a Civil Guard patrol observed major damage to the public road, mainly on destroyed telephone booths, broken trash cans, a commercial premises affected with damage, and various street furniture owned by the Tías City Council also seriously damaged.

The civil guards followed the trail of these recent damages produced along the Avenida de Las Playas, locating two suspects who were arrested after verifying their participation in these events.

One of the detainees, during his statement to the Civil Guard, acknowledged that both caused these damages and also stated verbatim that they did it "to let off steam after having had a fight with some Englishmen."

The damages amount to a total of 6,178 euros, and the two detainees were placed at the disposal of the court in the Arrecife Duty Court.
