The Local Police of Arrecife arrested two 30-year-old young men, natives of Arrecife, in the early hours of Wednesday, December 15, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with force in a central candy store in the capital of the Island. According to the police report, the alleged perpetrators of the events "forced the door and broke the glass of the commercial establishment, located at Calle León y Castillo, number 39, with clear intention to steal."
The intervention of a neighbor, who came down from his home to reproach the attitude of these individuals, caused both of them to flee, without gaining access to the interior of the business. However, according to the Arrecife City Council, "the urgency with which the police officers came to the scene after the call from this neighbor, meant that although the individuals involved had already fled the scene, they were located and arrested at the intersection of Francos Street with Gaviota Street, in an area near León y Castillo Street."
The collaboration of another witness who informed the agents about the physical characteristics of these people, as well as their clothing, was also decisive for the arrest. In addition, the municipal agents were informed that "one of the alleged perpetrators had a cut on his right ankle, possibly caused after kicking the glass window of the shop."
After their arrest, both young men were transferred to the police station for subsequent transfer to the courts.
