The traffic accident occurred at around half past eight on Thursday morning at the intersection of Avenida de Femés with Calle Janubio, in Playa Blanca. The paramedics who traveled to the scene had to attend to three of the four occupants of the vehicles involved in the accident. Finally two of them, men aged 32 and 26 who were traveling in the same vehicle, had to be transferred to the General Hospital of Lanzarote.
They presented costal trauma, one with possible fracture, and cervical trauma, so they required facultative assessment. The third assisted for pain in the shoulder and neck with a mild character was a 10-year-old boy, occupant of the other crashed car. After being assessed, transfer to a health center was ruled out and his father, as legal guardian, signed the voluntary discharge of the minor.
The Island Coordination Center of the Red Cross activated its assistance resources after answering an alert call reporting the traffic accident in the tourist town of Playa Blanca, at 08:33 hours.
