The Local Police of Tías arrested this Monday two citizens of Czech nationality who were surprised when they were trying to steal diving equipment from a bazaar in the municipality and who are also accused of committing other thefts.

The arrest of these two men, identified as Stanislav B., 21, and Mikulenkoba L., 24, both without a permanent address in Lanzarote, occurred on the afternoon of December 26, as explained in a statement from the Local Police of Tías.

After being surprised when they were trying to perpetrate the robbery in the aforementioned bazaar, the police officers verified that inside the vehicle they were using they were transporting a large quantity of food and beverages, which they had also stolen from one of the supermarkets of a chain on the Island.

Therefore, after instructing the police proceedings of the case, the two detainees were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
