Firefighters have found two dead dogs in a house on La Fermina street in Arrecife, according to the Emergency Consortium.
It was the neighbors who alerted the Local Police of the capital of Lanzarote that the apartment was giving off a bad smell. The National Police and the Emergency Consortium have also traveled to the scene.
Apparently the tenant of the apartment had left and had left the animals locked in the house and they ended up starving to death.
The firefighters have opened the door and removed the dead dogs and handed them over to personnel specialized in animals. They have also ventilated the house and disinfected it.
The National Police has launched an investigation.
