National Police agents have arrested three men at the César Manrique - Lanzarote airport who were acting as mules, with ages between 40 and 51 years old, all originally from Guinea Bissau, with police records, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health.
The arrested individuals arrived on the island on different island flights from Gran Canaria. When the appropriate radiological tests were performed, the agents detected that two of them were transporting 750 and 350 grams of cocaine respectively, while the third was carrying 580 grams of heroin inside.
The National Police, in its mission to pursue crimes related to drug trafficking, established a series of devices at the César Manrique airport in Lanzarote during the month of January, with the mission of detecting a possible route used by mules (people in charge of transporting drugs, hiding them inside their bodies) to introduce drugs on the island.
After the corresponding police report was prepared, all the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered the immediate imprisonment of all of them.
