The Civil Guard arrested three women in Teguise on May 10 and 14, as alleged perpetrators of crimes against industrial property. The arrests occurred after agents intervened in three stalls in the La Villa market, seizing 130 bottles of counterfeit perfumes, valued at around 15,000 euros.
Agents of the Judicial Police of Costa Teguise carried out an operation in La Villa de Teguise on Sunday, May 10, following a complaint from a lawyer representing a well-known perfume brand, who informed the Civil Guard about the alleged commercialization of counterfeit perfumes.
During that intervention, the agents found 130 bottles of counterfeit perfumes in three market stalls, with an approximate value of 15,000 euros. They then seized the bottles and arrested these three women, with initials M.D.S.A., J.D.H.F. and ERC., of Spanish nationality and without police records, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against industrial property.
The detainees, together with the seized merchandise, were placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court, on duty, of the town of Arrecife and were later released on charges. The Civil Guard has indicated that they all appeared "surprised" and stated that they "had no knowledge" that the merchandise was fake. The agents are now following the trail of the purchase of the perfumes to find the counterfeiters.
