The National Police has opened an investigation into the fire that occurred in a house on Blas Cabrera Topham street in Arrecife in the early hours of Wednesday. However, the police force has not yet provided any information about what happened.

As La Voz has been able to verify, the fire occurred in a house inhabited by squatters where, according to neighbors in the area, arguments had been taking place. Upon the arrival of the firefighters, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium, the three injured people were outside the house, where they were being attended to by the Local Police.

After asking if there were more people inside, the firefighters proceeded to extinguish the fire, while collaborating with the police in attending to the injured, until the arrival of the SUC health personnel, who assisted the injured. The three men were transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital, one of them in critical condition, with multiple serious burns. Another of the injured suffered third-degree burns on his legs, also of a serious nature, and the third had minor injuries to his legs.

According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, the fire was located in a room that appeared to be a bedroom and in a kitchen. As a result of the fire, the ceilings of the house were "very damaged, with risk of collapse", a fact that the firefighters reported to the National Police, who also came to the scene. In addition, according to the Consortium, "a dog was left" in the house.
