National Police agents in Arrecife have arrested a 29-year-old man, with no police record, of Colombian nationality, as alleged perpetrator of a theft on Reducto Beach.
The events unfolded when a National Police officer who was off duty, observed an individual heading towards the beach and taking a backpack that was there, later leaving the place.
The police officer proceeded to intercept and identify this individual, carrying out a superficial search, finding inside the backpack documentation in the name of a woman, a mobile phone, money and women's clothing.
At that moment a woman approached, stating to the police officer that the backpack was hers, which had been stolen from her in a careless moment. Therefore, the police officer proceeded to arrest the individual as the alleged perpetrator of a theft.
The recovered effects, valued at around 600 euros, were handed over to their owner.
The corresponding police report was prepared and sent to the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by agents from the Arrecife Police Station.
