The man who was the victim of a brutal beating at the hands of assailants at his home in the La Florida area of San Bartolomé this Monday is "stable". The strong blows inflicted by his attackers had caused this carpenter fractures in his ribs, arm and even skull, which left him in a serious condition. The assailants even applied electric shocks to him. After this violent attack, he had to be transferred to Gran Canaria where, according to the councilor of San Bartolomé Alexis Tejera, he has undergone surgery for those head injuries.

The councilman explained that the seriousness of his condition meant that this man had to be sedated and operated on. After that operation, "fortunately he is stable and waking up from sedation," Tejera said this Tuesday afternoon. As for his partner, who although she was not beaten was reduced and tied up by the attackers, she is "very affected by what happened".

His partner, "very affected"

This woman was returning home this Monday morning, after leaving the children at school, when she found a woman waiting for her at the door of the house, who assured her that she belonged to the money laundering agency of the Civil Guard. When she entered the house with her, she found her partner "naked and tied up", who had been attacked by at least two other aggressors who were also inside the property. She was also tied up then, although in her case she was not beaten.

After the incident, this woman was also transferred to the hospital. There they gave her a medical examination and received psychological attention. According to the councilman, who is "in contact" with the relatives to know the state of both, the woman is still very shocked by what happened and very restless. The relatives have told Tejera that after what happened she has doubts about whether to return to the house for the moment.

The Civil Guard has been investigating what happened since this Monday. For the moment, the agents have already inspected the house in search of fingerprints and any data that may help them to clarify what happened and find those responsible, who are between 3 and 6 people. The same is being done with the woman's vehicle, which was used by the attackers to flee the scene and appeared this Monday night in Argana.
