The Local Police of Teguise arrest two people after catching them forcing the door of a vehicle in Nazaret.

Agents of the Local Police of Teguise arrested in the early morning of Saturday at 01.50 hours two people for an alleged crime against property in an attempted degree. The police surprised them in fraganti when they were trying to steal a car in the town of Nazaret.

According to the police report, the agents saw two people forcing the door of a car, which was parked. After surprising them, the alleged offenders undertook a brief escape on foot. Both were intercepted and arrested for their participation in this attempted robbery. One of them was carrying several instruments such as two screwdrivers and a set of gloves.

The arrest of these two people was possible due to the "cooperation and coordination existing" between the main port of the Civil Guard in Costa Teguise and the Local Police of Teguise, according to the City Council. Both bodies have met to try to alleviate the crimes in the area, since there had been robberies inside uninhabited houses and in vehicles.

After the arrest, the corresponding proceedings were initiated, and the perpetrators were placed at the disposal of the Civil Guard of the Costa Teguise post. The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Councilor for Security, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, have congratulated both bodies for these arrests and have recommended the population to call the Local Police if they observe suspicious attitudes.
