The lifeless body of a man was found on Janubio beach. At around 12:30 p.m., the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert reporting that a person was in distress at sea, about 50 meters from the shore, and was asking for help.
The GES rescue helicopter, the Lanzarote Security, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention and Fire Extinguishing Consortium, a medicalized ambulance, Local Police, Civil Protection and the Civil Guard have traveled to the scene.

The firefighters located the affected person already lifeless and secured the body, given the poor condition of the sea, until it could be hoisted by a GES helicopter that transferred him to land.
The SUC ambulance staff confirmed his death.
The intervening emergency resources collaborated in the search by land and in the taking of the helicopter.
The Civil Guard took charge of the corresponding procedures.
