The Civil Guard of the Costa Teguise Station arrested on the 24th a person, with initials O.C.L. and of Spanish nationality, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation, a crime of injuries and a crime of robbery or theft of use of a vehicle. The investigation began as a result of a complaint from a tourist of foreign nationality, who informed the Civil Guard of events that occurred during the night of the 20th, when he returned to his holiday home in the company of his wife, in the town of Charco del Palo, in the municipality of Haría.
At that moment, the complainant allegedly surprised a person inside his apartment, causing a struggle between them that caused serious injuries to the tourist. In addition, a series of effects were allegedly stolen, such as a tablet-type laptop and a digital camera, both valued at 365 euros, as well as 80 pounds sterling in cash and the keys to a rental vehicle used by the complainant. In addition, this car was stolen two days later on public roads, allegedly also by O.C.L.
Components of the investigation area of the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise, as a result of the descriptions provided and after carrying out the corresponding police investigations, located and arrested O.C.L. as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of robbery with violence, injuries and another of robbery and theft of use of a motor vehicle.
The Civil Guard continues with the investigation to try to recover the stolen effects. The vehicle was already recovered by components of the National Police Corps, on March 24, in the town of Arrecife.
Author of more crimes in another location
As a result of the arrest of O.C.L., the Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise verified that the Main Post of Yaiza was looking for this person, for being the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with force in things, which occurred in a hotel complex in the town of Playa Blanca (Yaiza), in the month of October 2013.
Allegedly O.C.L. stole a safe with 12,000 euros in cash from a hotel complex in the aforementioned town. The agents obtained sufficient evidence to proceed to charge him with the aforementioned crime of robbery with force in things.
The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the corresponding court in functions of guard of the town of Arrecife.
