The Arrecife Local Police helped an elderly woman in a wheelchair out of her house early this Thursday morning after a fire broke out in the kitchen of her home. The events occurred at 04:02 in the morning, when the agents received a call from CECOES alerting them of a fire on Calle Norte in Arrecife.

According to the police report, once at the scene, the residents of the house told the agents that a fire had broken out in the kitchen of their house "and that they didn't know what to do."

After inspecting the house, the Local Police observed how the fire was concentrated in the kitchen and helped an elderly person who was disabled in a wheelchair to leave. The fire was extinguished in a first intervention with the fire extinguisher of the police vehicle, pending the arrival of the firefighters, who verified that the fire was definitively extinguished.

Subsequently, the agents notified the SUC ambulance service, who transferred the owner of the house and her daughter to Dr. José Molina Orosa Hospital for smoke inhalation.
