Agents of the Local Police of Arrecife managed to arrest a woman, born in Barcelona, who had entered a house in the Titterroy neighborhood to steal inside. According to the police report, the events occurred on the night of June 15, when a resident of that capital neighborhood, born in the United States, alerted the agents to the detention in his home of a Spanish citizen, whom he had found stealing inside his property.
Arriving at the scene, the complainant stated to the agents that "he had surprised a woman perched on one of the windows of the house with clear intentions of entering the interior, surely to steal, since approximately a week ago he had suffered a robbery in this home." The arrest was carried out by two agents of the Citizen Security and Intervention Unit (USCI) of the Arrecife Local Police at approximately 11:07 p.m.
According to the City Council, the window was protected by an aluminum slat shutter through which the woman inserted her hand and opened both the slats and the window. The police proceedings reflect that "at the moment the owner opens the door of the house, the detainee fled running and managed to reach her in the back of the street, taking her back to the door of the house, this place where they waited for the arrival of the actors", the agents of the Local Police of Arrecife.
Regarding these events, it is indicated that there is a witness, a neighbor of the same street, who witnessed the now detained woman in a suspicious attitude next to the window of the house, who, to disguise herself, asked him for a cigarette. Given the attitude of that woman, the witness "went around the block with his car to return to the house that was the reason for the robbery, surprising this woman entering through the window, at which moment he began to honk the horn to alert the residents."
Immediately afterwards, this witness observed how the owner and the woman left the house running. According to reports, the agents of the USCI Local Police of Arrecife informed the detainee of the reasons for her arrest and of the rights she has as such and transferred her to the facilities of the Headquarters of the National Police Corps in Arrecife for the practice of the proceedings and her being placed at judicial disposal if it was subsequently determined.
