A couple residing in the Arrecife neighborhood of Valterra were victims of a robbery in their home in broad daylight on Tuesday. The thieves, according to the complaint filed with the National Police, took 3,145 euros in cash and jewelry worth 4,000 euros.

The robbery took place between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., when neither of them was at home. "I had gone to work and then my boyfriend left. I usually arrive at 9:30 or 10, but on Tuesday I arrived later, and when I arrived I found the door open," says the person affected, who points out that the thieves "removed the lock" to enter.

The house is on the second floor, but no one in the building saw anything, the victim points out. "The only neighbor who is always aware of who goes up and down the stairs, precisely that day, unfortunately, had gone to the supermarket and when she returned, I had already arrived," she laments.

"They knew what they were coming for"

Specifically, the thieves accessed two of the three rooms in the house, according to those affected, stealing the jewelry and money from one of them. "They knew what they were coming for, because the house has three rooms and they went directly to ours. They took everything that was in cash, which was around 3,200 euros, and they took all the gold, but none of the appliances that people could see," says the victim, who adds that they also entered another room that she has "as a dressing room", but they didn't take anything from there.

Specifically, the thieves stole 3,145 euros in cash, of which 2,645 were the collection from several days of a restaurant where the man works. In jewelry, they took an Apple watch valued at 400 euros, three gold chains, three gold crucifixes, an emerald pendant, three gold rings, a gold ring, four gold bracelets, a gold pendant in the shape of a scarab with embedded diamonds and a Tommy Hilfiger watch valued at 150 euros.

Help to find the jewels

Those affected believe that it could have been someone who knew their departure or entry times and that the collection from the bar where the man works was kept in the house, according to the complaint. The woman has also sent La Voz some photos of the stolen jewelry so that if someone sees them or they are sold online, they can contact the National Police, who after the complaint were already in the house "taking fingerprints."
