A 61-year-old woman suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest on Thursday afternoon while on La Garita beach, in Arrieta, municipality of Haría.

At 18:58 hours, the on-duty personnel at the Ambulance Post of the Spanish Red Cross on the aforementioned beach in the north of the island received a notice from a witness, alerting them to the location of a woman possibly pre-drowned near the shore.

The crew of this ambulance approached the place at the moment in which the patient was extracted by other bathers, detecting severe respiratory difficulty and other signs of stroke.

The assistance maneuvers, which were supported by a doctor who was at the scene, managed to improve the condition of the victim, who was finally stabilized and evacuated by the Medicalized Ambulance of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) to the General Hospital of Lanzarote.
