The Carnival celebration in Puerto del Carmen has not been characterized by major incidents, as reported by Emerlan, the Emergency and Rescue NGO of Lanzarote, which only carried out 18 services during the celebration of the Carnival Coso and the subsequent popular festival held in Plaza del Varadero, mainly due to street fights.
Five of the eighteen services were performed for aggressions that occurred during the festival, having to transfer two victims to the General Hospital of Lanzarote. One of them was an 18-year-old male with a deep cut to the head, and the other, a girl with a possible fracture of the nasal septum.
On the other hand, two young people had to be transferred due to alcohol intoxication and numerous cures were performed in the street, generally due to cuts, wounds, bruises and various burns.
Cleaning
On the other hand, 8,400 kilos of garbage were collected after the celebration of the Coso, in a special cleaning deployment carried out by 26 operators, two self-propelled sweepers and two trucks (one tanker and one collector), using in turn 10,000 liters of water with flavored disinfectant.
The cleaning and disinfection operation also extended to the Varadero area, where the festivals and carnival gala were held.
