The Civil Guard of the Yaiza post arrested on June 29 a person with the initials B.A.S., 31 years of age and with a police record, as the alleged perpetrator of four crimes of robbery with force, a crime of theft and another crime of simulation of crime. The robberies for which he was arrested took place in a tourist complex and in two private homes in the town of Playa Blanca.

In addition, the Benemérita points out that he falsely reported the theft of his vehicle after allegedly committing those "criminal offenses", allegedly to have an "alibi". According to the police force, B.A.S. was accompanied by a second person in those robberies, whom the agents are looking for and have not yet arrested.

The agents began the investigation after receiving the first complaints on the 27th, when several foreign tourists reported that they had suffered robberies in the rooms of their apartments. Specifically, five televisions, appliances, electronic objects such as tablets, cosmetics, and even complete suitcases with personal belongings and clothing had disappeared. The Civil Guard estimates that all of this is valued at approximately 4,000 euros.

The neighbors managed to photograph them

At the same time, the Civil Guard verified the commission of several robberies of similar characteristics, committed this time in private homes in the same town of Playa Blanca, during the afternoon of June 27.

On this occasion, however, the neighbors were able to surprise and even photograph the two alleged perpetrators, who, "seeing themselves surprised, fled the place on foot before the arrival of the police, leaving behind a vehicle used for the robberies", explains the Benemérita. Inside were all the stolen objects, which were recovered in their entirety by the Civil Guard and returned to their legitimate owners after they recognized them.

Parallel to the efforts carried out by both the Civil Guard and the Local Police of Yaiza to locate the perpetrators of the events, "it was verified that the day after the events B.A.S. had appeared at the National Police facilities in Arrecife to report the theft of his vehicle, with the alleged intention of creating an alibi or similar to avoid his involvement in the narrated robberies", adds the police force.

Finally, on the 29th, the Civil Guard arrested B.A.S. as the alleged perpetrator of five crimes against property and another of simulation of crime. Meanwhile, it continues with the "pending steps" for the location and arrest of the second perpetrator of the robberies. The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court, on guard duty, of the town of Arrecife.
