The National Police have arrested a 42-year-old man for assaulting another on Sunday afternoon on Carmen Street in Arrecife.
According to police sources, the victim, a 39-year-old man, was arguing with the detainee, demanding money that he allegedly owed him. During the argument, the victim took out a baseball bat and used it to assault the detainee.
At which point the 42-year-old man allegedly took the baseball bat away from him and began hitting him. Due to the trauma the assaulted man suffered to the head, he was transferred by medical ambulance to the José Molina Orosa Hospital.
An ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service was dispatched to the scene.
