National Police agents have arrested in the municipality of Arrecife a 33-year-old man, with 17 police records, as the alleged perpetrator of a violent robbery.
The events unfolded when a National Police agent who was off duty, observed a hooded individual struggling with an elderly woman to steal her bag, fleeing the scene later at a run.
He was able to be intercepted and reduced by the police officer, with the help of a member of the Arrecife Local Police who was in the vicinity.
Therefore, the individual was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a violent robbery. In the security check, the arrested man was found to have a 25-centimeter knife, gloves, a sock and a piece of hashish.
The victim was assisted and transferred by an ambulance to a health center due to the injuries suffered. The corresponding police report was sent to the competent Judicial Authority.
The police intervention was carried out by agents of the Arrecife Police Station.
