La Graciosa resident Juan Rafael Hernández passed away this Monday. Known for his connection to the sea, this man was a professional fisherman. It was another fisherman who first thing in the morning reported that he had found the body of this Graciosa resident in Caleta de Sebo.
The emergency services were notified first thing in the morning of the discovery of the corpse. The man, who was about 60 years old, was very well known on the island and was president of the Fishermen's Association of La Graciosa. "From here I want to tell you that many people will miss you, that one day we will see each other again," wrote a relative on Facebook.
The Judicial Police have moved to the eighth island to remove the body. Local Police officers from Teguise and firefighters from Lanzarote were also there. At the moment the cause of death has not been confirmed.
