On May 6, the Complaints Office of the Arrecife Police Station initiated proceedings according to which a citizen, residing in the island's capital, reported being the victim of a robbery with violence.
The complaint indicated that the events occurred when the victim was sweeping the sidewalk in front of her home and was approached by a neighbor who asked her for a glass of water, the complainant replying that she could not assist him at that time.
Taking advantage of the fact that the door of the house was open, the statement continues, said neighbor pushed the owner of the house and threw her on a sofa. Taking advantage of these circumstances, the defendant seized an envelope that was on a table, and then fled.
Once identified by the National Police, the alleged perpetrator, Jesús José G.M., a native of Arrecife, 36 years of age and with up to 17 previous arrests for similar events, was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
