The National Police have arrested, in just 72 hours, two fugitives, one in Tenerife and the other in Almería, wanted by Italy and linked to the Neapolitan Camorra.
Both had a European Arrest Warrant for Surrender for various crimes, facing a combined total of 60 years in prison, as reported by the Police this Friday in a statement.
The detainee in a vacation rental apartment in Tenerife was wanted for crimes of belonging to a criminal organization and homicide, after participating in the Italian town of Striano in 2024 in a firearms attack in which they fired up to 12 times at a man on a public street.
Another arrest in Almería
For his part, the fugitive located in Roquetas de Mar, in Almería, from where he apparently continued to direct the criminal organization, was considered a high-value target for being one of the leaders of a well-known criminal group from the Neapolitan Camorra
The Police report that the investigation began at the end of October after receiving a request for collaboration through the National Police's information exchange agreements with Italy and the Sirene Office.
Italy issued a European Arrest Warrant for a man for the crimes of blackmail, extortion, kidnapping, illegal detention, and hostage-taking, for which he could face up to 30 years in prison.
