A baby of just one year old alone inside a car. Faced with this situation, the firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium have been alerted this Friday morning. The child, who according to reports would be about "7 or 8 months old", was inside his mother's vehicle, which was parked in the parking lot of a large supermarket in Arrecife.
According to what they have related from the Consortium, the firefighters have been alerted to open the vehicle, when a customer of that establishment realized that the baby was alone inside the car and there was no trace of the parents. However, opening the car was not necessary, since the mother appeared practically at the same time as the firefighters, after a call through the supermarket's public address system. Agents of the National Police also arrived then.
From the Consortium they have explained that, apparently, the mother had entered "to buy" in the supermarket and had left the child asleep and alone in the car, which was "in the shade", in the area that the supermarket has enabled for customers who come with small children. The baby, however, was "fine", they point out. Given that their intervention was not finally necessary, the firefighters left. Meanwhile, the agents of the National Police asked the mother several questions, with the child still asleep in her arms, but finally, no "action was taken against her", the Police confirmed.
