Arrested in Lanzarote for seriously injuring another man in the eye with a broken bottle

The judge has ordered his immediate imprisonment. In addition, the aggressor was wanted for stealing an electric scooter valued at 712.98 euros in Playa Blanca.

The Civil Guard of Lanzarote arrested, on July 11, a man of 24 years of age, for the commission of a crime of very serious injuries by injuring another man with a broken bottle in the right eye. The judge ordered his immediate imprisonment.

The events date back to the early morning of June 22 when the complainant was in a leisure area of the C.C Papagayo, when after a previous dispute, the detainee intercepted him outside a local, after having obtained a bottle, giving him two blows to the face, which caused the uselessness of the right eye.

The injuries caused were such that the victim required an initial hospitalization of 5 days, receiving several surgical interventions, having to later move to the Doctor Negrín Hospital of Gran Canaria to re-intervene the eye in order to recover his vision.

Immediately the Civil Guard initiated an investigation based on the statement of the victim, contribution of data from possible witnesses in the area in conjunction with the analysis of the images of the security cameras that led the investigators to carry out the steps for the identification of the subject, which were difficult because he was traveling between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, being finally intercepted and arrested by the Civil Guard in an occupied house in the town of Playa Blanca.

At the time of his arrest, the Benemérita was able to verify that he was being sought as the author of another criminal act for having stolen an electric scooter valued at 712.98 euros in Playa Blanca after fracturing the security device with which it was anchored, also imputing this crime of theft.
